Tether’s Seattle Studio is looking for a Junior Art Director / Designer with a diverse portfolio of work including, but not limited to, concepting and execution of campaigns that include digital, social, and/or animation. In addition, a foundation of strong typographic skills should be demonstrated across the portfolio.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years experience working in a professional design or creative agency as a designer

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Track record of developing and executing brilliant and original designs
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency
  • Go-to-market campaign and advertising experience
  • Able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining focus on the big picture
  • Solve creative challenges in innovative ways, independently and as an actively contributing team member
  • Able to make well-prepared, articulate internal presentations with a focus on business and design objectives, while also addressing any internal questions that arise
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure
  • Collaborative spirit with experience partnering with writers, strategists and developers

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively contribute to creative output while working with the team to stay on target strategically and conceptually
  • Work with clients in a professional manner across all projects, regardless of level of involvement
  • Proactively look for opportunities to learn from different members of the studio (and beyond) while readily sharing your own areas of expertise
  • Consistently proof your work for quality and accuracy
  • Adhere to established schedules and budgets, alerting the creative lead when potential issues arise
  • With the project leads, review creative concepts against design strategy at appropriate stages and integrate feedback, asking for clarity as needed
  • Actively partner with team members across disciplines (copy, video, interactive, production, project management, etc.), looking for ways to improve creative work and processes
  • Display and continue to develop professional written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing clarity, concision and timeliness of replies both internally and with clients
  • Continually stretch your creative comfort zone to produce more innovative work
  • Working both strategically and conceptually, develop creative solutions that consistently deliver on business needs, with a strong understanding of copywriting and creative collaboration
