FROM WEB TO WESTSIDE TO GREAT NORTHWEST 

Monday Coffee started as an e-commerce venture, selling cold brew and roasted whole beans online. The team cultivated a degree of local success by hosting pop-up coffee carts at public spaces and galleries throughout Chicago’s westside. A highly experiential approach to the beverage made it the ideal gathering spot for artists, musicians and other creative, java-loving souls. When it was time to extend their roasting and brewing expertise into a unique, relevant and instantly recognizable brand, they reached out to Tether. 

 

BREWING UP A FRESH COFFEE BRAND

We began by exploring how to make Monday Coffee’s offering unique in a sea of coffeehouse sameness. Then we translated our findings into a distinctly ownable brand mission, persona and voice, along with a customer promise based on their ability to provide a singular coffee experience that none of their competitors were delivering; a highly personalized coffee ritual that educates, inspires and connects each individual to a kindred community of coffee lovers.  

Next, we developed a casually sophisticated visual language and logomark specifically designed to resonate with their target demographic. And provided a plethora of examples for bringing it to life across advertising, signage, cups, wearables—the full spectrum of consumer touchpoints.

Supplied with the necessary strategic and creative elements for transforming from a local endeavor into a visually consistent and highly relatable brand, Monday Coffee continues to deliver highly personal coffee experiences that lift each customer’s mood and energize their moments, while building an engaged, artistic and adventurous community of ambitious, coffee-loving friends.
