A bit about the role:

Tether is seeking a freelance, part-time Bookkeeper for a long-term contract to support ongoing monthly bookkeeping needs. The workload may vary month to month, depending on current tasks. Currently, the role is expected to require around +/-20 hours per month, with the potential to increase to up to 40 hours per month during our busier season from November through February, when benefits and year-end activities take place.

Responsibilities include entering all AP, AR and Payroll data, as well as reconciling all related accounts monthly.  In addition, this role will support and assist the Controller by maintaining accurate and timely financial records.  You will work with the Controller in updating overall accounting records and other financial reports as needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Update and review monthly payroll and associated benefits while ensuring accuracy before processing with Paychex and posting in Workamajig (ERP Software)
  • Review and submit monthly retirement plan contributions related to payroll
  • Review, update and submit annual 401k census data
  • Reconcile and review all benefit accounts related to payroll monthly
  • Maintain and update all AP + AR data in a timely manner, including:
    • Post vendor payables and credit card transactions upon proper approval
    • Post all transactions while adhering to the “matching principal”, such that revenue + expenses are recorded in the same period
    • Code and track production expenses to the corresponding GL for revenue
    • Research statement discrepancies and flag any changes in expenses to the Controller
    • Generate and process AP reports and associated payments semimonthly
    • Ensure vendor bills are paid timely
    • Generate client invoices based on Account Management input
    • Generate monthly AR statements / past due notices monthly
  • Manage various tasks on the monthly accounting calendar and work closely with a cross disciplined team
  • Organize all files and backup documentation clearly so they are easy to find, with the expectation that future audits can and will occur
  • Create and develop key financial reports for the Controller and Leadership team to illustrate business trends
  • Ensure any errors that occur are prevented moving forward and learnings are attained and communicated in a timely manner to the appropriate people
  • Proof team members work to ensure accuracy of key reports, payroll and data
  • Self-manage your time to meet all deadlines
  • Always maintain the utmost confidentiality regarding all business and employee information, including financial information, such as revenue, net income, salaries, hourly rates for contractors, employee and owner matters

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experiences
  • 3 – 5 + years of Payroll and Accounting experience
  • Proficient Excel skills

  • Ability to spot inconsistencies, and flag things out of the norm to the team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new software programs

Compensation: $30 – $35 hourly DOE. Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position.

A bit about the role:

Tether is seeking a Freelance Designer for a long-term project. This role will serve as the primary designer for a luxury beauty brand’s marketing and branding initiatives. A typical day would include leveraging brand guidelines to author designs, generating content across multiple projects, and meeting with the internal and external team, under the leadership of the Creative Director.

This is a contract position with a hybrid schedule. While working on-site at the Tether studio on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is not required, it is encouraged to foster collaboration and alignment with the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design continuity of the brand refresh and design system
  • Contribute to marketing theme concepts and design treatments
  • Visual asset creation
  • Photoshoot/videoshoot coordination support
  • Packaging design extensions
  • Printed collateral design
  • Creative support for events
  • Production support for specs and proofing
  • Contribute to presentations and status meetings with their beauty team and their selected specialty agency
  • Daily time sheet entries
  • Collaboration with the project managers, writer and CD

Tether is currently building their freelancer bench for the Industrial Design team. If you’re an experienced Industrial Designer interested in working with us as a freelancer, please apply.

You will be responsible for the development and execution of brand storytelling across a variety of mediums and projects. You will work under the collaborative direction of the Creative Director.

 

  • Support the strategic, conceptual and design development of multiple small and large-scale projects
  • Provide ideas, concepts and designs that effectively respond to the briefed objectives
  • Develop materials for internal reviews and client presentations; collecting inspirational imagery, usability criteria, visual communication in the form of; concept sketching, illustration, 3D CAD work, and product renderings as required.
  • Adhere to established schedules and budgets and continually work within agreed upon parameters, alerting the project owner and team in advance when issues arise
  • Review creative concepts against the design strategy during appropriate stages with the project owner
  • Prepare drawings, sketches, comps, mechanical files and the ability to source and oversee production samples
  • Ability to communicate ideas at varying levels of 3d from quick sketch models up to photo level quality models
  • Consistently proof your own work for accuracy and quality

  • 5+ years professional industrial design experience
  • Professional knowledge of design, prototyping, and product innovation
  • Familiarity with Industrial Design software: Solidworks, Adobe Creative Suite, Keyshot, etc…
  • Professional knowledge of identity, brand development, and 3D design. Environmental design and packaging knowledge preferred, or a strong interest in learning is required.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively communicate and present design solutions thru hand sketches and varying levels of computer visualization from Illustrator and/or Photoshop renderings to photo-real renderings
  • Able to solve creative challenges in innovative ways while also proactively finding resources that help foster innovation
  • Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humor
  • Display and continue to develop professional-level creative execution for primary content creation, including products, CMF, environments, equipment, packaging, and user interaction
  • Possess a general understanding of secondary related fields such as interface, design research, and graphic design. Build high level content for presentation decks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or equivalent work experience
