Curiously I wasn't able to post a comment to my earlier post, so I'll repeat my post AND request of a reply from Tether:
I have three licenses of tether for BlackBerry, having started over a year ago with Tetherberry. I am switching two phones from BlackBerry to Android and want you guys to sell me on tether for Android since it appears that my two very expensive licenses can't be transferred.
Here's what I see so far:

PdaNet is free, or $15.95 if you need to access secure sites (https://), and it is capable of handling download speed of well above 35Mbps (35000kbps).
Easy Tether is free, or $9.99 if you need to access secure sites (https://) and there are over 100,000 paid users.
Tether is $29.95, download at speeds up to 2,400 kbps
(Note: I don't know how stable any of them are, but I can tell you that my tether for BlackBerry was BUGGY!)

So... tether guys... sell me on tether for Android!

I really used Tether for BlackBerry a lot when I had it, and it paid for itself several times over. But Tether lovers won't like the rest of the story.
Before I bought my new phone, my girlfriend got a Samsung Acclaim (Android 2.1) and I recommended Tether. She's not happy with me for that. She has had very spotty connections, drops, and sometimes Tether tries to connect to a BlackBerry--which has never been connected to her laptop.
When I switched to a Droid 2 Global, I tried out both Tether and PdaNet. I found connecting thru PdaNet was much easier, and in my purely subjective opinion, it is faster and more stable. And if I am idle and my connection is dropped, reconnection is just a right-mouse-click away. So I switched and spent less on PdaNet than I would have paid for a discounted Tether license.
Thanks, Tether, for the memories, but I have moved on.
