I live in the boondocks and use ATT for cell service. I want to upgrade my current cell phone to an Android as to allow me to use this product. What phone is the best for me? Also I am computer stupid. But I can find my way around enough to make me dangerous. Laptop is Windows XP Service Pack 3
Should I get 3G or 4G? Style of phone? Does this product work on the ATT network?

Tether will work on the AT&T network, as we have a lot of customers who use Tether without any issues. Any Android device will be fine, as Tether runs on Android devices running OS 1.6 and higher.
