The tether software on my PC is asking for a device password and providing 10 attempts. Where does one find the device password?

I tried the security code several times to rule out mistyping, but it was not accepted. The security code is correct b\c it unlocks the device.

Could you try removing the code from your BlackBerry and try Tether again, this is just for testing purposes. You can re-enable the code once you test Tether without it.
It is the security code you set up on your BlackBerry, the code you unlock your device with.
