Everyone,

I was told by many people within VZW that unlimited means unlimited. Moreover, I just got off the phone with VZW supervisor and they stated, quote "the 5gb limit ONLY applies to the VZW tether feature. The Data that is used by the Blacberry (i.e. tetherberry) is totally separate from the VZW tethering and is UNLIMITED with no 5GB limit."

I asked about people getting charged for going over 5GB in a month and they said, quote "that had to be while using the VZW tethering application."

I am not sure how the other programs work but, from what I have seen (some u setup a connection and connect like a VPN) they use the dial in "tethering" type connection.

I think we can put this VZW thing to bed everyone...

True. 5gb cap only applies to the mobile broadband connect feature - IF you're paying for either the $30 plan or the $15 plan. We still technically have an unlimited tethering plan for mobile broadband connect for 59.99/month -- but its not 'advertised' ....but if u call us, we'll add it for u....if u chose to go that route.

Anyway, since tetherberry uses the Blackberry's data plan, there will never been any fees period. I know the way the system works as an employee, and there is absolutely NO limit to the bis data plan 29.99 or 44.99.

I just upgraded DM to 5.01 which has the tethering feature in it when installed, but if I try to use it with my Storm, It says IP Modem feature disabled by carrier. "Verizon". I find it annoying that Verizon does not allow that, it gets removed from DM after you close the error message. I was was waiting for that option before I shelled out any cash, but still looks like TetherBerry is the best option.
Just downloaded the trial and works like a charm, so my wallet will soon be opening.

from blackberry browser vzw home page go to get apps, get apps for fun and work, software catalog, utlilites, and the number one link on a verizon branded app site is ....Tetherberry...so good luck with them getting me to pay for any tetherberry data consumption should they ever try it.

Am using the seven day trial so as to have a back up for my laptop (getting a wi-fi card). You are not always near a hot spot when you need to access the web and having this as a back up is great. As my carrier is out of the loop I can use my Storm as my means of access. It is running on the laptop presently.

While I like Verizon for their network I find their pricing structure to be out of line. My previous phones prior to getting the Blackberry were also with Verizon and their apps were grossly overpriced.

I pay them quite enough for the BB and intend on utilizing it to the maximum.
