I am on a trial period currently with Tether.

Everything works except when I try and connect to my VPN. It won't connect. It gets to the point of trying to verifying username and password and then fails. I have no issues browsing the web.

No problem connecting to the VPN normally through my wireless router.

Question: Assuming this is not a limitation with Tether, is there some setting I need to change in order to connect my laptop to my VPN?

BTW: The error message is the following when it times out:

Error 800: The remote connection was not made because the attempted VPN tunnels failed. The VPN server might be unreachable. If this connection is attempting to use a L2TP/IPsec tunnel, the security parameters require for IPsec negotiation might not be configured properly.

Hello,

Tether allows for a VPN connection that uses a TCP or UDP encryption. Could you check with your network administrator to find out what type of encryption your VPN uses please?
