Hi: I have a Sprint BB curve 8330,but i have a problem with video streaming. I cant seem to watch any videos online when tethered. The stream runs for a few seconds and freezes. In some cases it just keeps buffering for ever!
These below are my latest speed test numbers on speedtest.net. I dont know if the answer is in any of the figures.
1.Ping-363ms
2.Download-0.34mbps
3.up-0.08mbps
4.Video-(35mb)-14min
5.Mp3 file(5mb)-2min
6.movie(800mb)-319min

Thank you

Your speeds are less in kilobits per second than the video stream your attempting to watch, you will need to pause the video and let the buffer fill or attempt to watch a lower bitrate stream if available.

Make certain your not running any other BlackBerry applications by doing a battery pull on the BlackBerry, once the device finishes rebooting go to the following site from your PC running Tether and let me know what download/upload speeds your currently seeing along with the ping. Please select a location on the speedtest map that is nearest your location.
http://speedtest.net

After you run the speed test I need to know your current signal quality, on your BlackBerry click Options then Status and provide me with the Signal number followed by 'dBm'.

There seems to be a possible issue on your BlackBerry, follow these instructions then run the same testing procedure from above please:

Uninstall Tether from your BlackBerry by following these steps from your Smartphone:

1) Click Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications

2) Highlight the Tether in the list of applications

3) Press the BlackBerry Menu button

4) Select Delete

Install Tether again by visiting the following link through the default BlackBerry Browser:

The issue is your blackberry signal is fluctuating too much to provide a consistent data connection. Anything over -90 dBm and you will likely begin having issues, the fluctuations in the signal interrupt the flow of packets creating a downshifting effect.
