With this data package, can you guarantee me that I will not get any fees for tethering from Verizon?
I am not sure if anything can be "guarantee" in today's "communication" market place. As a wireless provider, they have the rights to modify their service term and condition without prior notice. That part is surely "guaranteed".
With that said, in general, you should not be charged since "Tether" self is a web application that IS utilizing the BlackBerry data service, in same form that you are accessing internet on your phone. Which in principle is different if you using the phone as a "modem" that connect to internet via Verizon service provider (APN), for which they charge you $15/month for 5GB of data usage.
The $15/month for 5GB of data usage is subjective to the area you live in, it is more in some areas.
On Dec. 5, Verizon is making a large change to their service offerings. A 4G network will be launched on that day. This fourth-generation network technologies called, LTE, promises to offer near-broadband speeds. No Verizon phones yet support the 4G system technology. Verizon plans on presenting 4G phones in January.
We can't guarantee you won't be charged, I am a Verizon customer and I have the same plan and I have not been charged any additional fees for using Tether.
