Tether

New version sucks...While I'm always happy to see updates, you really should make sure it works properly before you "push" it to phones...For anyone who has yet to download this version I would consider it very "beta"

Yeah I agree that the new update sucks. I quickly downgraded after trying it out. I wouldn't recommend anyone DLing yet but I'm going to guess that this update is mainly for the Bell Mobility group as they were having some problems with charges to their accounts.

I would really love to see a version that actually works consistently considering the $50 price tag

Definitely inconsistent...Sometimes it runs non stop at very reasonable speeds...Then after receiving a call or a text it takes up to an hour sometimes before it will get a solid connection again...On this recent update it was just a lot slower, although it seems the speed has picked up in the last hour

how can you download the BB version of Tether.. running 1.1.0.7... like to downgrade to 1.1.0.6 and see if there is a difference like I suspect

Tested version 1.1.0.7 on Storm2 (Verizon Wireless), and Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit) with Bluetooth connection, no problem found so far. (in fact, I am posting this while connected via Tether).

Has been connected for 30+ mins, no issues.

v. 1.1.0.7 had nothing change except we changed the APN for Bell Mobility. No other changes were made that would affect speeds or how it works. Just 12 characters changed in the code.

If you are seeing slower speeds or anything of that nature it has to be around your network connection with your carrier. Over the period of a day my speeds can vary 500 kbps.

Is there a 1.1.0.7 for windows? I downloaded the latest version from the download link and it was 1.1.0.6.

a year ago it was pretty fast, now so slow i cant use it.
i get 5 bars EV and my browser on the phone is very fast. verizon service, usb connection

well i dont know and really dont care about all the technical stuff.

bottom line for me is 12k tops. which is way slower than any old land line analog modem i had back in the day.

Bottom line, i'm pretty sure verizons network is not that slow, and it doesnt matter where im at, Syracuse, Rochester, Albany, all the same.

the client on the phone side locks up every 15 mins, some kind of exception error. I cant restart the app because it says the usb port is in use, so i have to pull the battery and reboot the phone.

Bottom line - doesn't work very well, for whatever reason.

I cant even get the PC version to download on my windows 7 x86 folder ... i keep getting a write error and then it rolls back ... any ideas>

I cant seem to connect with the new version at all Upgraded Tether and since then I cant seem to get a connection previous version worked great I'm running vista 64bit running tether on BB 9630 never had problems untill now

ANY IDEAS?

I cant Connect it does not give me an error it just shows the alert (Yellow triangle) on my network icon that i have an issue with my wifi

I cant seem to figure it out i have restarted my PC & my BB and cant seem to get a connection
