Not seeing much on actually using Tether for Android on the boards here.

I've been using heavily the last several days -- staying at a location where the WiFi failed so Tether is my primary connection.

Working pretty well generally -- running about 1.2 mbps download and .6 mbps upload -- about the same as my BB Tour runs. Connects very quickly every time. In a different location (like at my home) I have clocked 1.8 mbps download and .85 upload very regularly. Both locations show a 5-bar signal strength.

Issue I'm having is that the internet connection is not stable -- it drops randomly while online, for no apparent reason. The BB Tour is not exhibiting these drops, so it does not appear to be a wireless network issue. I close Tether, reopen, and I can get right back online, but the drops are frequent and annoying.

Also, if the internet connection is unused for any period of time over 1 minute the internet connection will drop every time.

In both of the above cases, the Tether connection is not broken -- it still shows on the Tether dashboard as connected, it shows upload packets happening (very low throughput) but no data accumulates and no download happens.

Just thought I'd provide a little Beta feedback. Lemme know of any suggestions.

When it works it works -- but the drops are annoying (not complaining here -- I signed up for a Beta)

Thanks go blue for your status update on your beta testing so far.

Do you experience these random drop-outs while doing light browsing and such?

Yes -- the dropouts occur while browsing -- email and casual browsing -- as well as when there is no activity. I have not observed a drop-out while a large file is downloading.

That's interesting that it doesn't happen when your downloading.
