Hello out there!
I just bought TetherBerry yesterday in order to use it the next days for some web presentations. (No WiFi/direct internet access available there - but mobile internet).
The problem is:
I'm using Vodafone Germany with a BB Storm 9500. The APN Settings as described on this website are "web.vodafone.de" with no username/password.
Well - the Vodafone.de Blackberry Storm Data Plans do not include data traffic via web.vodafone.de, just wap.vodafone.de and blackberry.net.
But neither wap.vodafone.de, nor blackberry.net work for me, when using them as APN, TetherBerry just ends up in a tunnel oder socket error.
So, I just paid 40 bucks - to pay for even more data traffic that is caused by using the BB with web.vodafone.de as APN (and it's really expensive!).
The point is: It's possible to use web.vodafone.de APN + BB Storm WITHOUT Tetherberry - same functionality.
In fact, Tetherberry seems to have no use for Vodafone Germany customers because you'd need an extra data plan - not a BB Data Plan which includes unlimited blackberry.net use.
Why is "blackberry.net" available as APN for customers from other countries?
Any chance of getting TetherBerry running on Vodafone Germany without using "web.vodafone.de" as APN?

We are working on joining the BlackBerry Developer Alliance so that our application can use BISB connections. If they let us in, this should eliminate the need for any APN settings at all.
We've heard that Australia has the same problem that you are describing.
