anyone else getting this after the new update??
Was working Great for past few months, now after the update, it works fine for a while sometimes hours then nothing, check bb and it says:
Uncaught Exception: Applaction Tether (148) is not responding:precess terminated
the to get it to work again. I have to pull the bb battery out or do a soft reset.
Any and all advise is appreciated.

same thing happening here, removing and reinstalling the program on my phone fixed it for a while but now it is back in full force :\

I had this start happening to me today after I downloaded the app to my phone and pc yesterday (and it working fine all day).

Blackberry Curve 9330, OS v4.5.0.186
Tether v1.1.06

Also having same issues, I have seen the Uncaught exception error, as well as having my BB tether attempting to connect and then shutting down saying USB Line Dead (or similar) goes by to fast to read.

Was running latest updates on both PC and BB (1.1.0.6). BB is Curve 8330 with 4.5.0.169 on USCellular. Had been running fine, after upgrade-problem. Downgraded BB to 1.1.0.4 and back to fine again. (Also downgraded PC side back to previous in 1.1.0.1). Problem gone.

I'm totally having the same problem. It started a few hours after i updated the tether app on my BB a few days ago. I have to do a battery pull every time it happens and it"s really annoying. UGH! At first I thought it was my computer but now i know its the application on the blackberry....is there a way i can downgrade the version on my BB

Same problem for me. I'm using USB, not Bluetooth. My BB is a Curve 8330 and my carrier is Verizon.

And you're seeing it right when you start Tether? OR after data is being sent & received?

After some data is sent and received. Looks like the only solution now is to downgrade. I'll see if that works.

Uncaught exception: Application Tether (137) is not responding, process terminated

It happens after awhile of Tether usage(at least 30 min, less than 2 hr?). When trying to reconnect starting on the phone side an error message flashes by quickly. I have to pull battery in order to use Tether again.

I have an 8130 and have never received this error.

What do you mean you have to do a battery pull to use Tether again?

Is the Tether application 'froze' on the screen?

I will first notice Tether exit on the pc side because the Tether icon disappears from the task bar. I check the phone and it displays the error I described. I then try to initiate Tether again on the phone side and while it is authenticating it will display a message of some sort very quickly (like medicjel said above "USB Line Dead (or similar) goes by to fast to read.") and then it will exit right back to my phone home screen. I am then unable to get Tether to connect unless I do a battery pull and then things are back to normal.

I have a similar problem after installing 1.1.0.7 today. After being connected for 30+ mins, my connection dies and the BB client says unhandled exception. Trying to restart the client, after I click on USB, it says aquiring, then "USB Thead Dead" flashes for about half a second before the whole app disappears. To not get this error again, a battery pull must be performed. Has happened 5 times today since the upgrade.

Anyone have a line to a pre 1107 version?

Same issue, but about 1/2 way down, tiggertiffin87 lists how to get an older version of Tether. It's 1.1.0.4 which I am currently using after having the uncaught exception error with 1.1.0.6 and 1.1.0.7.

Just tried the update to 1.1.0.7, worked for all of about two minutes before problem occurred and shut tether down. Back to 1.1.0.4 and been back on for over an hour without hiccup. Other than BB software, no changes in setup.

sb: Thanks for the link to 1.1.0.4! Support's response was to reinstall the application. I'll give that a shot, but I suspect goign to 1.1.0.4 will be the short term solution.

1.1.0.4 works without disconnecting.

1.1.0.7 works for 40 minutes at best

Sprint on Boost 8830

1.1.0.4 Average speed 300 down 120 up...

Please release the 1.1.0.8 today.

Hi,

Getting the same problem after only a couple of minutes use on:

MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.3, Mac Tether v1.1.0.2 with BB DM still installed and connecting over Bluetooth to a new 9700 running Tether 1.1.0.7.

The first sign of it going pear shaped is that the 'packets sent' ticks over like there's no tomorrow even with every internet app closed then eventually both 'ends' of Tether crash out.

I downloaded 1.1.0.4 on the BB and with everything else still the same, it seems to be working ok......

Other than this it's a really handy app!! :)

I'm having the same problem, Uncaught exception: Application Tether(177) is not responding; process terminated.

BlackBerry Storm (9530) running OS v5.0.0.328 connecting over bluetooth from a Macbook Pro running OS 10.6.4.

System works for quite a while (even hours) before this message is received.

Looking forward to the fix!

sorry to say everyone, even on the older version 1.0.0.10
i get the same message Uncaught exception: Application Tether (187) is not responding, process terminated.
I have the latest software on my BB and I use the 8830.

but it is running better on my laptop now getting a little faster speeds....
hope there is a fix soon

well installed the beta 1.4 version and its still not working very well about 30 minutes into use i got the uncaught hangup and now i cannot back on, LOL off to the drawing board again, had to use my verizon card which i use to watch TV from netflix and tether to play on the net, so anything else i can try?

Ok everyone went to the old version for BB phone and its working fine has not crashed or anything on the phone for 2 days now, so it looks like it has something to do with the new update for the BB phone I am back to using 1.1.0.4 works without disconnecting at all, so what do you all think now?
