Just wanted to let you all know I'm using TetherBerry for Mac Beta on my MacBook and tethering my BB Storm. It works absolutely amazing. Super fast and really easy to use. I was debating on paying for a monthly tethering service via Verizon but I'm so glad I didn't. Verizon is very expensive and this works great!

I would use the tetherberry for mac program, but it is still so slow compared to the tetherberry for windows. I don't know why tetherberry on mac is so much slower than tetherberry on xp for me with the same blackberry storm. I updated to the new mac version too?

what is everyone's average download speed? I tested at 0.31Mbps. Not particularly impressive if you ask me. I would be interested to see any stats.

Cheers,
Bill

I have Macs at home and the new Blackberry Tour, previously owned the Curve. I have been tethering wirelessly (bluetooth) with VZW for 6 months paying an additional $30 per month on top of unlimited date plan. The speed is OK, but very interested in Tetherberry. I would love to be a beta tester for Mac version.

Using the Beta on a G4 iBook running 10.5.8 with no problems, download 0.51, not bad as I will only use it for email and social networking on the road where Wi-Fi is not available. Did have a problem at first with 'Devicetool' requiring a password to connect but that has gone away.

i have used the tetherberry for mac beta on and off over the past few weeks. A few questions:

1. Will the mac beta expire? If yes, when?

2. I have not yet bought tetherberry because my bbberry is getting to be a bit beaten up and i dont want to buy it and then on having to replace the bberry, have to buy it again. I read somewhere that the pin can be transferred (as in beejive) from one device to another. Could somebody please confirm this definitively?

3. I have also tethered my mac to my iphone (thankfully was smart enough not to upgrade iphone 0/s to 3.1) and it seems much faster than tetherberry. Has anybody done tetherberry for mac upload/download tests?

Thanks

1. Yes it will expire. The date is unknown as we try to figure some internal stuff out. We will notify all Mac Beta testers.

2. You can transfer it to any other BlackBerry device at any time.

3. What phone are you using to tether with your BlackBerry? Different models have different capabilities.

I've always been able to just connect my Blackberry Curve to my Mac and, using user ID/password and APN info for my carrier, create network device profiles that allow me to tether via USB and Bluetooth.

What are the advantages to using Tetherberry over this method?

Where is information on the way you have done it, like the user ID/password and APN info? The info I have seen has always conflicted each other.
-Thanks

I have mac that runs both snow leopard and Windows7 (with boot camp). Do I need to buy both versions (Mac and Windows) to have it work under both operating systems?
