I just bought and registered Tether for my BB Bold 9700 on ATT. I am using a Mac OSX 10.4.11 laptop. Both devices say they are running, but nothing is being sent up or down (so no internet access). I turned off my airport before starting everything up.

After restarting both devices when I started up tether on the mac, the status box read:

Challenge Successful!

Still no internet.

I reopened and the status box said:

Tether connection active

The log on the blackberry doesn't indicate there was any trouble connecting.

It did say it was trying carrier specific APN. That is currently disabled on my phone. I was under the impression that I did not need APN enabled to use tether.

Please let me know what I can do to get this thing working. Thanks

I forgot to mention that when I open up my network connections all possible connections have the red (not connected) bullet points. I saw an earlier version of tetherberry on a youtube tutorial and when the person opened their network connections "tetherberry" was listed as a connection and it had a green bullet point. Not sure if I should now be seeing a "Tether" bullet point.

I am not particularly computer savvy so perhaps this is is irrelevant. Thanks

Okay, thanks. Sso it sounds like I should be able to see "tetherberry" in the my network connections window. Does anyone know what I need to do in order to set that up?

When I installed the .dmg program it mentioned that I would be asked about my network card. That never happened. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Make sure that you are logged on MAC with an account has the administrator rights in order to be able to create the interface.

Thanks hhzhao. I'm a little confused about how to proceed (not very computer savvy). The laptop is my own, so i assume I have the appropriate administrator rights to create the interface. I guess my question is why didn't the .dmg file create the "tetherberry" interface when I installed Tether? Further, how do i go about doing that myself? Thanks for your help (or anyone else who might have some insight).

the dmg file (MAC disk image file) is for installation, and should create the new "tetherberry" network interface for you.

If you check the "User" section of your "System Preference", you should be able to identify if your login name is an administrator account.

Also, to be sure you don't have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on your Mac, if so, make sure remove the BlackBerry Desktop Manager from your Mac before install the tether application. As of current, Tether is not compatible with Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac.

I am the admin for my laptop. For some reason when I install it's not setting up the Tetherberry interface. I've tried reinstalling, but no dice. Not sure what the solution is. Does the autobot have anything to offer?
