I used Tether for 2 years fine. HAven't tried in a few weeks. Now, I keep getting the message "Make Sure USB Debugging is Turned on on you Android", alternating with "Checking USB Settings". The Android side checks registration then says "Waiting for aConnection".
So, I redownloaded Tether to the PC. And as part of that it asked me to connect the phone, and turn on USB Debugging. It was on, but I turned it off then turned it back on. So it finds the phone, but doesn't connect.
I turned the phone off, pulled the battery, and turned it back on. No difference.
I rebooted the PC. No dice.
I deleted and re downloaded the Android piece from the marketplace.
I reentered the Registration code. It works, but still no connection.
I tried 3 different USB ports and 2 different cables. Nada.
So I am stumped.
PC version 1.4.5.0
I don't see anywhere to find out the Android side version.
Help!!

I read an older thread on this and there was no answer from Tether. So should I assume Tether is a DEAD product, and find something else (like EasyTether)? I just want it to work, it worked fine, it stopped, and for 3 months now no one has an answer. Sounds like what we call in the business a "deprecated" product: Old, no longer supported. Sad, I've used this for 2 years and liked it mostly.
And even if it still works on BBerry, since THEY too are going down the tubes, maybe not so good a thing for Tether's future prospects.
