So the latest update is causing issues?

Can you send me the Tether log from your Blackberry.

you can access it by pressing the menu key and selecting View Log while running Tether.

I'll do my best to help,

I am unable to connect with the tether software on my pc. The BB8330 Tether states it is connected and displays on my pc, but no access to internet.

Are you using USB or Bluetooth to connect?

On the PC does it show Packets beings sent? Packets Being Received? Both? or None?

Have you tried USB yet?

What version of Windows are you using?
XP? Vista? Windows 7?

Just wondering as USB has a better reputation of working, and trying it out would be a good starting point for resolving the issue.

Do you know what type if Bluetooth adapter you use? Is it USB, or built in to the computer?

Connected USB and both the PC & BB show a connection via Tether, but no internet connection.

Can you go to your Start Menu, Click Control Panel, then open Network Connections within the Control Panel.

You will see "Tether Network Connection", right click on it and select properties.

There will be a list of Check Boxes, uncheck all of them except for "Internet Protocol (Tcp/ip)"

Restart your computer and try Tether again.

If your problem persists, while Tether is running on your Blackberry, press the Menu key in Tether, and select View Log.

And let me know what is there.

Where are you receiving this error 777?

Does it say it in the PC app?

In the Blackberry log?

In Windows?

In connecting a windows dial up screen appears requesting username and password. The tethering connects and disconnects. I am not using a UN & PW, just connect.

Umm... How exactly are you connecting? Our product has nothing to do with Dial Up connections.

Yes, but do I need to use a username & Password and if so, what do I use?

The password would be your Blackberry password.

Strange that you are seeing a username field though. Try leaving it blank, unless you have a username for your blackberry?

Is this Dialog appearing when you connect over Bluetooth?

Hi,
I have the same problem. Today, I updated Tether version to 1.4.3.7 (Windows XP SP3 and BlackBerry Curve 8530) and got no data received. Although it says in Windows (Connected to BlackBerry) and in BB (Tether is running), and got some Package Sent (variable number), I got 0 packages received.

I used yesterday version 1.1.0.6 with no problem at all.

I opened a support ticket, and waiting for answer.

LOG:
Tether v1.4.3.7
Connecting via USB
First connection
Trying Carrier Specific APN for MCC: 334 and MNC: 0
Trying Direct
Registration validation started
Successful (some ip address)
Trying UDP
Trying UDP wiht User APN on local port 53
UDP connection Successful
Checking for USB connection
USB cable is connected to BlackBerry
Tether is Registered.

That's it.

Thanks.

I recieved an tether update last week and after accepting it tether stopped working. Have sent info. asked for by tether support and followed the instructions given. I still can not get tether to work. It is sending packets and sending data, but not recieving packets or recieving data. Is there an 800 number I can call to talk to a real person.

i have a couple of issues with this i tried running tether on some blackberry's including mine but it didn't work but i tried it on my sisters berry and it connected but it now sends packet data but doesn't receive any packet data and after reading one of your contributions up there i went and checked my pc's network connection and unchecked every other boxes except for the tcp/ip but its still the same thing its sending packet data but not receiving. although im thinking of buying the license as im still using the trial version but i don't think i might exceed the point of the trial version as i don't want to waste money buying something i won't use.
thanks

Hello,

Could you please tell me what your computer is exactly saying the error is? Also, with Tether running on your Blackberry device can you press the Blackberry Menu button and select "View Log". Could you tell me what the full text of the Tether log is please? With that information I can assist you in achieving a resolution.

I am having a similar problem. Gear: Blackberry 8530 and MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8.

Problem: Tether on Mac as well as Berry launch and seem to connect. No packets are being sent nor received.

In response to the above posting, I downloaded http://tether.com/t/backups/1.4.3.9/Tether.jad. When it said there were updates, should I download, I did so. The problem was not resolved. I thought it might be the updates, so I went back and re-downloaded 1.4.3.9 and did not do the upgrades. Still no resolution. My log says this:

Successful (65.111.172.187)
Trying UDP
Successful
Checking for USB connection
USB cable is connected to BlackBerry

The Tether app on the Berry says it is Registered and Tether is running.
Tether app on the Mac says the Tether Connection Active.

Any help is appreciated.
