Is Tether a Memory Hog or is My BB 9550 a Lemon??

99.99% of the time, my BB is COMPLETELY locked up and has been since I installed Tether in April. I hard boot it 2-3 times a day to unlock or unfreeze it. A hard boot does nothing for the memory size.... it used to until I started deleting every single email on the phone. Go figure!!

The ONLY 3rd party app is Tether, all others have been deleted/uninstalled. All media is stored on a memory card and I delete any email with attachments several times a day. I have 0 (zero) bytes available in 'file free' / and 'app memory free space' is also 0 (zero) or 0.0 kb. My device memory total AND free space is 1.8 GB; and my media card total space is 14.8 GB/free space is 14.7 GB.

What is up?? Am I missing something here?? Should I toss the BB out the window on the freeway as I've wanted to countless times before???

Thanks in advance!! (and sorry for the vent, I'm just so sick of the little clock and hour glass......)

**** And I always "Quit" Tether on the BB and run the memory cleaner several times a day.

Hello,

Tether is not a memory hog. The issue you are experiencing does sound like an issue with your particular Blackberry device. I recommend reaching out to your wireless carrier to see if there is anything they can do to assist you.

That's what I suspected, it's the BB device. I have tried several times to get help thru Verizon tech support, as well as the sales rep at the store I bought it from. They dance around and tell me "try this, try that". I forked out the monthly charges for insurance for 1 1/2 years but they still will not send me a new BB, not even a refurbished one! I just switched over after 17 years at AT&T and so far have a VERY bad opinion of Verizon, all negative.

This forum is for Tether so I'll leave it at that.

As discussed in the other thread (I'd post a link but this BB is so unstable and going to find the thread will cause it to crash as always).... I'm going to reinstall Tether on a different BB and switch out the SIM card. Then hope it works!

Thank you again jwells!
