Wondering if anyone has managed to use Tether to connect a BlackBerry to an iPad. Interesting in knowing if/how it is possible to run a BB, likely through Bluetooth to an iPad? Or, is it possible to turn one of the newer BB units into a 802.11 hotspot to allow an iPad or other device to connect up.

Currently on an unlimited data plan for the next 2 years and would be nice to connect up the iPad wirelessly with my always-with-me BB. Even if the iPad needs to be jailbroken, that too would be an option.

A tether app or a way to connect by bluetooth
to an Ipad would be Great!!!!
My company have about 10 people using balckberrys and 1/2 of us already use the teather for our laptops. and LOVE IT
if we could get it to work in Ipads
you would have 10 plus 15 sales people
as new customers for sure

We don't like releasing dates or really promise anything because this is new to use technically. So we don't want to promise it will be out next month and it ends up taking us 6 months.

Hopefully via BT as I have Storm 9530. I've got a 3G iPad but would love to not have to buy another data plan, especially since AT&T got rid of the unlimited plan.

Sorry at this time Tether currently does not support the Ipad.

We are looking into adding this feature in the near future.

I would too be very interested in this application. i do not have 3G coverage in my area but do have an unlimited data plan that i sometimes use to Tether my BB to my MacBook.

I have to echo all the enthusiastic Q's above about how spectacular an iPad connection would be.

Tether is an amazing app and I wanted to express my thanks and congratulate you folks on making such a spectacular product.

Since Verizon has just announced that it will offer an iPad / MiFi bundle next week, I think there will be even more interest in a Tether/BB/iPad app, as the MiFi solution is pretty expensive (i.e., hardware/data plan/access charge).

I know you want to keep this close to the vest, but could you at least tell us if there will ever be such an app?

An ipad app to tether a blackberry would be great. I would be willing to pay for an app like that even though I already own the blackberry app. PLEASE put one out.

Which version of Windows are you currently using?

There is a 3rd party application that can be used with Tether and Windows 7 to provide WIFI to your Ipad.

I am running Vista right now, but plan to upgrade to Windows 7. I tried Connectify on my son's laptop and it works great! Thanks for the tip!

Only thing keeping me from buying this service is an iPad app. My Mac desktop tests worked great, but I travel with my iPad just as much and need a traveling hot-spot wherever I go. Any update on this yet? Last post was 2 years ago. You guys should have something nearly complete by now.

Must I find someone to "jailbreak" my iPad in order to Tether to BB or is an app forthcoming. This would make my day!

I purchased my Blackberry exactly 5 weeks before Verizon offered the iPhone. (they said that they had no idea if or when they were getting iPhone). Now I have over a year left on the BB Bold, unlimited monthly 3G, for which I pay AND no way of using this connection for my iPad... I think... Please give me the good news!

I am surprised to see that this request has been made 2 years ago, and even though the iPad (1-3) has been super popular the Tether response has been that tethering a BB to an iPad will done "sometime" in the future. Sounds to me that either it's possible, or not, but not that it will take 2 years to figure this out. I am currently considering an iPad but would love to have to be able to tether it to my BB.

If we look back to recent time there were so many different priorities & we have so many new updates / releases over the time. I agree the tether for iPad is long awaited but we are working on it & now it is the top most priority

There is one indirect way to tether your iPad. You can use internet on your iPad through your windows pc by creating Hptspot on windows pc. You can use third party utility like connectify.me for that. .

There is one indirect way to tether your iPad. You can use internet on your iPad through your windows pc by creating Hptspot on windows pc.
