Hey guys,

I saw the bell mobility forum and it spooked me that people are having to pay thousands of dollars while tethering. I am with Telus and have been using tether for atleast the last year. However, I never push past 20 megs of tethering per day. I know wind mobile has a usb stick thats like 30/month and its unlimited. I am wondering if its better to just switch to that. I have been bitching at Telus for the last year at their shit service. I know that if I got hit with a tethering bill they would rather go bankrupt than reverse it for me.

Those who are on telus, has anybody seen charges? How much are you using per day? I also have a slingbox and go fishing and having access to my TV via mobile internet would be neat but I dont want to shit bricks on usage. I have the old unlimited plan on the CDMA network.

Thoughts?

I am a Bell user that got dinged $1000+.

I am definitely getting a usb internet stick.
Yeah, you've seen how Tether has not stepped up and done the RIGHT thing.

Although you have not been charged by Telus, what if Telus changes something on their end,to counter Tether-like programs. You could have unexpected charges on your next bill.
Future updates from Tether.com can not be trusted in my mind.

I will never use their product again.

Yeah that Bell forum is what sparked the whole issue. If you do a trade off, i'd rather pay 40-50 a month for unlimited internet and not give a damn about how much I use vs using Tether and watching the data usage like a hawk. Part of it is piece of mind and since so many people have gotten dinged this is a bit worry some. I'd rather that then get hit by a large bill. To date I haven't had any issues with the tether application as of yet but god forbid i get slapped with a bill. Not to mention I agree i've seen their support and was taken back a bit. I was going to get my wife the application but decided to go for the internet stick and share my internet connection with her so we can both use it at the same time.
