I am considering buying an I pad. I would love to be able to tether it with my Blackberry. I am told that if this app would run on an I-phone it would work on the new I pad. I do not want to use 3g from AT&T. Please develop this app. Are you considering an app for the I pad? Thank you

Does anyone have any info about Tether and the IPAD as of 4/8/2010?

I want to purchase one without the 3g?

The iPad app approval process can take months if it is even possible for Tether to function with Apple products.

So it's possible it could be a while before there is any typed of status update for Tether on the iPad.

You could sign up for the Tether mailing list if you don't wan't to bother checking the forums for updates.

As long as it's not dead, I'm hopeful....

I have just purchased an iPad (WiFi). I have tested the trial of running tether with my Blackberry and my MacBook Pro. The interface was awesome. I would really like to get an app for the iPad to tether to my Blackberry. Keep up the effort of getting this on the market.

To solve the iPad / BB tether issue, I can use my BB to set up a WiFi hot spot, using the Cradlepoint PHS300 Personal Hotspot.

Apparently this is very easily done and creates a WiFi Hotspot that up to 16 devices can connect to - including an iPad.

The issue is that, without something like Tether, you have to pay Verizon (or some provider) for tethering separately from your unlimited data plan, which defeats the purpose of avoiding separate data fees.

The issue with Tether (which I love, BTW) is that it needs software on the BB and on a PC - presumably it therefore can't work with a device like the Cradlepoint to avoid data plan fees.

Am I wrong? Is therre a way to use Tether with Cradlepoint?

Thanx.

Just got a cradlepoint to test out. It forces a phone into data modem mode. Carrier data plan sign up screens immediately follow. Seems cradelpoint works but only if you use carriers data plan (kind of what you were avoiding using tether in the first place).

If anyone can figure out a work around...let me know!

App store won't approve but they can probably put it on a cydia repo.
