Auto reconnect

Periodically, for whatever reason, tether just stops receiving packets. The outbound will slowly increment but the inbound does nothing. Seems the current only way to "resolve" the issue is the restart tether.

This gets a tad annoying. Grab phone, go to app, close app. Close app on laptop. Launch app on both, select (in my case) USB on both and... done.

It really seems this could be automated I would think.

A way that "resets" the software on both. Would be nice if it could just be done from the application on the laptop (or whatever it might be that's being tethered). Especially those who use Bluetooth and may not be next to the phone (as it may be set aside plugged in else where).

I hope I've described it well enough. Please look into this.

MAC FIX !!!!

IT has been found that if you do the following, the mac-based client will stop crashing:

1. IF you are using Printopia, go into you System Preferences and turn it off
2. If you have pring-sharing checked in your SHARE in System Preferences, then Uncheck it.

This should fix the problem. This was reported in Macrumors.com on 12/4/2011

HP Touchpad

How about softwear for HP Touchpad and BlackBerry tethering this would be great.

Bad business model? New re-direct to Tether website at connect.

Just saying, the website re-direct is a poor business choice, seing as it is a red-flag to carriers. Once I start getting charged beyond my data use, I'll stop using your product. NBD, I already paid, right? Well, sure, unless you consider my interest in referrals. Oh, and since you decided to double-charge for OS swaps instead of porting licenses, it's another reason to not keep me as a customer when I swap to droid next month. Love your app, but your business model is going to kill your market.

Tether in South Africa (Vodacom)

Just a BIG warning to all South African Vodacom Tether users !! Using Tether will see you being billed the standard data rates of R2,00 per meg. After, buying Tether some many months ago & never being able to get to work, after Tether support eventually said, "Sorry can't help you." And then never replied when I asked for my money back!?! I got a message from a Tether user on their forum yesterday & managed to use it for the first time. Well, I will say this, Tether is very fast which is good. But at the end of the day, it certainly IS NOT free or even a low cost alternative for internet.
Personally & by experience, Tether should change their advertising strategy. It is most definitely FALSE advertising to make the claim that its free internet. The truth about its costs unfortunately only set in after you've paid for the app.

tablet to android phone tethering

why is it that another company has a public android tablet app that gets internet from the android phone by both bluetooth and usb and we cant get an answer when its available for Tether? If theres something already being tested I will volunteer to beta test for Tether!

Other company has theres available on android market now.

Let me clarify a little. They have an app for the android tablets that allows tethering from your android phone to your tablet. Its beta but working pretty well. Why cant we get this from Tether? I would much rather use Tether than this other company.

Awkward setup every time to use

Why is it so awkward to run the process?
An app should run on the Mac, maybe wait/check for Phone reporting Tether Ready and then run automatically based on last settings.
This way only 1 setup, on the Phone, run Tether........ makes it go. 1 push.

The way it is you have to Start app on Mac..... oh, actually Exit from previous run, find app in /Applications fonder, run, answer the same questions AGAIN, Bluetooth, pick the Same device as last time --- that should all be skipped, use Old device, Old settings bluetooth/usb

so that there is minimal interaction from the user since it's all the same as last time

Preferences should exist fro m the Menu to allow for this. Some kind of Menubar entry too -- and ability to turn it off easily.
In the simplest Preferences whether or not to Default to Bluetooth/USB or ask everytime, same for Device, use last or not option.
