I used the tether with my bb curve with no problem. the Bold will begin to work and then within a minute gives the error 601 error reset message. i tried the cache clearing technique and no help. is anyone using the bold with a pc with any success?

This was not always the case but as of the last month or so Tether has begun to fail and not respond when downloading a file using Utorrent. It just freezes and the only way to get it working again is to close it. (most of the time require a forced quit) Then quit Utorrent and then restart Tether and connect again. This on a MacBook running OS Lion and a BlackBerry 9650 on Verizon. Any ideas or help?

I recently got a new hard drive on my new Dell XPS. This is a Windows 7 laptop and is only 6 months old. I reinstalled Tether and after that my PC would no longer communicate with my router (ASUS RT-N16). I tried restarting the PC, rebooting and then resetting the router. Nothing worked until I uninstalled Tether, and then I had no problems again.

When I had the problem, the PC and router would establish a connection, but they would not communicate. I could not even log into the router wirelessly. Other PCs in my house without Tether installed had no problems.

Obviously this latest version of Tether has some problems. Please fix this or refund my purchase price.

Does anyone know if Tether will work on a prepaid phone network. I am planning to purchase a new prepaid phone. Many of the companies offer the blackberry and androids. Can anyone tell me if tether will work with one of the unlimited data plans available? Most of the salespeople are totally ignorant of what Tether is.

Finally did it... though not quite how I want it...

I have my BlackBerry tethered to my Linux laptop... BUT only to Windows7 running in VirtualBox. The missing ingredient was VirtualBox EXTENSIONS for USB support. Strangely, USB to the BB still isn't working; but it does work via a USB connected Bluetooth adapter ($13 from WalMart online).

No access for Linux yet; but getting closer. Of course, if I need to up/download a file, I can now do it via BB<->W7/VBox<->HardDrive<->Linux.

Well, I bought a newly bold 9900 at first glance the speed was very fast, I downloaded tether to give it a try to the mac, I suddenly went to speednet to check the connection and I was stunned 4mbps/2mbps I said "wow" then I surfed the we like 4 hours, playing online, I disconnected tether and inmediatly connected it again, went to speednet and the connection wen to 4mpbs/2mpbs to 0.24mbps/0.10mpbs. What happened?

Been using tether for couple of years now and love it. Works great internationally as well if you have that kind of plan.

Suddenly I am experiencing the BB connecting normally with good data exchange. Tether connects normally. The PC interface appears to also launch and connect fine. Data only shows going out and 0 received.

I have tried rebooting device and computer and no change. I even reinstalled the software but no change (new download to ensure latest version). Changing usb ports didn't change anything.

Even now, I am showing connected through tether but it has 0 data receive and won't work. But even while connected I am using the BB to send this so to prove the data is good.

Hope there is a solution.

I am in Qatar. My carrier is Sprint (through Qtel). I have the BB Bold.
