I bought TetherBerry yesterday and have not been able to make it work on my laptop or desktop......a Gateway with Celeron XP and 1.40 ghz and Dell Optiplex with Pentium 4 XP and 1.80GHZ I have a BB Curve 8320 that is 2 weeks old and my carrier is T Mobile. I easily use it and for months my BB Pearl 8100 as tethered Dial ups at 145kps. I did have to add a string to my modem setting and dialed *99# to access it. This didnt exactly come with a manual is there something I'm needing to do? I get "DNS error failed to locate server" on the Default and Direct settings and "Invalid URL Parameter, Failed to locate server" on the BES MDS setting........HELP
This is a message I sent to TetherBerry.com about 10 days ago with only an E mail acknowledging receipt with a cc to some engineer but have had no communication since then. My bank account shows the $60.00 has been paid to TetherBerry. I Have gleaned information from the forums both on TetherBerry and Crackberry and found that the BES MDS settings don't pertain to me. I also found that I needed to designate an APN in my TCP settings found under the Advanced options setting. my problem / complaint is that 1. I've had no response from the people at TetherBerry.com and the speeds are far below the 115kbs I am able to get by using my BB as a tethered modem AT NO EXTRA COST.
Is there something that I am Missing? I admit that my device software is only 4.5.0.81 but T mobile does not offer the 4.5.0.83 recommended. If I cant get this to work any better I will opt out and ask for a refund. Any help[ or guidance would be appreciated.

I don’t work for tetherberry…I am just a user in the forum and I read your complaint. Couple things..1. why did you pay $60 when the app is listed at $45 up from $39.99 on March 15.
Secondly, I am a t-mobile customer with the 8320 curve. Here are the apn setting that must be entered exactly For it to work usuing the default option on your bberry.
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: guest
Password: guest
I suggest re-downloading OTA the .jad file again and when it comes time to install the app, Select the radio box to “set application permissions”, then click the escape key (to the left of the red
End call end button) - yes to overwrite the old app and it should install perfectly.
NEXT and this is important. You must start the software on your laptop FIRST. Then attach the usb cable to the bberry
And computer –THEN start the software on your blackberry. You should have a connection.
If you don’t, verify with tetherberry if you registered your phones PIN when you purchased. If not, there’s the error..just email them to
Add it and once they do, you will be all set.
Good luck..sorry to hear tetherberry’s customer service is so terrible. It doesn’t matter how great your product is..if you don’t back it…You’ll be forgotten by the masses.
