Back in the day, cops spent a lot of time chasing skaters out of public spaces. Times have changed. Forward-thinking cities like Seattle now create public spaces that invite skateboarding.
Case in point: the RED BULL SKATESPACE in Seattle’s Jefferson Park. Red Bull, the City of Seattle, and pro skater Torey Pudwill have teamed up to select an artist and develop a “public art experience that explores the creative nexus of public space, athletic skill, and individual imagination.” In other words, art you can skate on.
You can watch the whole process, thanks to Red Bull Media House and Tether. Together we’re producing three segments:
Episode 1: Blank Canvas
Episode 2: The Collaboration (debuts 9/15)
Episode 3: The Reveal (look for it mid-October)
