Setup failed to install driver

Just like the title states. During setup, I receive the error that setup failed to install the driver. I was prompted for the unsigned drivers during setup and told XP to continue installing them anyway. After that, the error message pops up "Failed to install driver". I've uninstalled, reinstalled. Disabled all network devices. Nothing will get the driver installed. Looking for suggestions here since I paid for this to be able to use it on my trip next week.

Thanks.

You can try to go to Control Panel->Add Hardware->Next->Yes I have already added the hardware->Add a new hardware device->Install the hardware that I manually select from the list->Network Adapters->Have Disk and then browse to c:\Program Files\TetherBerry and double click the qrkis.inf file and follow the remaining wizard screens.

I've only ever had to do this on one Windows XP 64bit machine before.

Let me know if that helps

Didn't do it. I was able to select the file in the Tetherberry folder, and it looked as if it was going to install. At the end, it said, "Unable to find the file specified". Still dead in the water with this.

I'm starting to wonder if my download of the Tetherberry installer is bad. Is it possible for you to let me download the installer again?

You should be able to click the Download link at the right side of the page and re-download it.

Nope. Still won't install. Put my copy on a flash drive and popped it on another laptop. It installed just fine and I was able to use it. I'm not sure where to go at this point.

Do you know if the original XP you tried it on is XP 64bit?

The only other person I've seen with this problem I was able to fix it by doing a remote desktop to their machine and then doing what I mentioned in my first post.

The original I tried it on is 32-bit XP. In fact, I'm typing this post from that same laptop now. I'd be more than happy to setup a GoTo Meeting session and give you control of my laptop if you'd like to try it yourself.

In case anyone else runs into this issue, the problem seemed to be caused by having the following key missing from the registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
