I am a new paying user. When activating Tether on my BB 9700 on T-Mobile USA, I get the above error. If I click past, it says on the status "License: Checking". No packets up or down on the phone so I figure that I am stalled trying to get my license recognized.

I have tried registing by manually entering my registration code, but nothing happens when I hit the "register" button. I don't know what else to try.

I e-mailed support yesterday, but no reply and I am getting frustrated.

Support suggested the below, but same error.

On your BlackBerry click the Options icon and select -> Advanced Options -> TCP and enter the following APN settings if not currently entered into your BlackBerry and try Tether again please.

Same error. In the log it gives Code: 302 Len:14

I don't quite understand why you can not connect to the registration server, it is not down.

Did Tether work at all for you? Perhaps you tried the trial first?

Are you running on a BES? Is your phone issued by your company?

Yes. I use BES, but I bought my own device. They do install a policy file onto the device, but it is pretty bland.

Problem solved. It was a T-Mobile configuration error. Apparently, there are two BES plans. One tailored to companies that block certain types of Internet access (and personal e-mail) and ones that does not. Since this was my personal phone, they shouldn't have given me the one that blocks personal e-mail and some Interent. The Tether works fine now.

hi, i'm from malaysia and using Maxis BIS with blackberry tour 9630. At first i'm using trial and i found that can use this tether application. that why i'm buying the code. Now, currently i'm facing this problem. I'm using Maxis APN=internet.gprs.maxis and my BIS is unlimited. i'm trying the new Beta 1.4 and same problem occured and sometime got uncaught erro. pls help me

What do you have as the username/password? What errors are contained in the Tether logfile?

I keep geting the message The Registration server is down, please try again later then tether starts running after i hit ok and packets start uploading but nothing downloading.

Could you provide me with the signal strength of your BlackBerry by going to the following :

Options -> Status

Could you also provide me with what is connected on the following screen on the BlackBerry :

Manage Connections -> Service Status

Could you also verify Wifi is disabled on the BlackBerry?

I have a blackberry curve 8520 and am getting the same error code - Registration server is down". I have been running tether on this phone successfully for quite some time however this problem began last week. Since then, I have not been able to connect. Please help!
