You can download Tether to your new BlackBerry by going to the following link on the BlackBerry Browser:
http://tether.com/t/tether.jad

Launch Tether on your BlackBerry by highlighting the blue 't' Tether icon and clicking the trackball or by pressing the Enter key on the keypad. With Tether running and visible on your BlackBerry, select USB or Bluetooth then click on the BlackBerry button to open the menu and select 'Register'. Enter the Tether registration code you were email after your original purchase of Tether including the dashes, this will update our site to reflect your new/different BlackBerry Pin.

If you don't know your Tether registration code please visit the following link and select the option "I forgot, lost, or need my Registration Code" and enter the email address you used during your original Tether purchase. You will be emailed your Tether registration code.

My origional message indicated that my origional Phone was damaged and my Registration Conde number no longer worked on my New Phone. I requested a New Registration Code number for my replacement phone that would be associated with the new PIN. The above message is all I got. When I followed the link I received my Origional Registration Code based on my Orighinal PIN

I ordered 3 days ago and today my payment cleard (used echeck) well I haven't received a registration code. When I try and request it like you said it says "there is no registration code associated with this email. Please order to receive registration." So I would really like to have my code please and thankyou.

I tried to download the .jad file from the browser on my BB, but got the message that it's an invalid web address. I did not use the "www", since it's not shown above. Is there an alx. file that I can download using the DeskTop Manager?

Make sure you're not including any capitals or anything like that in the URL. The URL is correct.

Only if you need to use Tether on two devices simultaneously, otherwise you can simply download Tether to your new/different BlackBerry device and enter your Tether registration code. This will register Tether on the new/different BlackBerry and de-register the other, reverse the process to register the previous device.

But this can only be done if both BB devices have cellular service, correct? ie, Can I move the SIM card and Tether from my BB 9550 on Verizon to a BB Pearl that's not on a network at all? I want to uninstall Tether on the 9550 b/c - according to the device - Tether is sucking the memory dry. I want to install Tether on the Pearl but it does not have a service provider.

Does Tether recognize the device or the SIM card? I assume the device?? And that Tether requires network service to work??

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick of the little clock and/or hourglass!!!! I think the BB is a lemon but anyway....

Hello,

As long as you have a Blackberry device that gets registered to your wireless network you can install Tether to your device.

Thank you jwells! I'll just keep moving the SIM card, hopefully it works until I get rid of this lemon. It's worth it b/c I really like Tether!

i bought a copy of the software on Aug 4th, but never recieved a registration code in email. is there any way i can get my code? i need it for my new blackberry since my old one just broke.

I bought tether back in june and now my blackberry is messed up so had to get a new one and dont have my registration code and tether cant find my email to send me the code . what do i do? is there anyway to get it off my old blackberry or cant they go by the pin?

I did that and they were no help!! i have tried every email i have to get the code and everyone they say there is no purchase with that email even sent them where they took it out of my bank account and got no response!

I just changed devices and opened Tether application. Pressed menu key and selected register - entered original registration key code received, agreed to switch PIN by taking possession of already existing registration and entire process was less than two minutes! Personally, I LOVE Tether and cannot imagine being without it! If you followed instructions of original emal and properly registered your purchase, you will never encounter ANY problems with the application or the Tether staff.

I had to get a new blackberry because mine fell and busted the glass, I looked everywhere to find how to transfer it to my new phone and didn't see this post. I contacted tether support and could not have gotten better service if I had paid extra for it. tether customer service is the best, they will help you through any problem you may have I give 5 stars to the tether support team *****

Our development team is working on this issue, as a work around could you try the following:

Could you try assigning one of your physical buttons on your BlackBerry to the virtual keyboard, fill out the information, hit the assigned key virtual keyboard to hide the keyboard and hit the Ok/Submit button.

On your BlackBerry click Options then Screen/Keyboard and look for the words "Convenience" to set one of the keys as the "Virtual Keyboard".

Let us know if this works for you.

I did try but the "Convenience" key would not produce virtual keypad since it is already on, the one that is on would not key in anything, any Storm users can help here? can't believe I am the only lucky guy that noticed this issue!

I love tether, please help me keep it..

I have tried this already, nothing is happening.

When I pull the tether window in my storm2, the keyboard is already on by default but disabled, even the menu botton is disabled so I can't do copy/paste.

I guess my trial version will end soon, how do we extend it until you guys find a fix?

I was able to reproduce this issues on the BlackBerry Storm. We are currently looking into the issue. For a work around please install the following version of Tether on your BlackBerry :

Many Thanks to mhankinson and Matt for jumping on this issue and resolve it, I have downloaded the prev. level jad tether version ( I think 3.9), was able to register it and it worked like a charm, then I updated to the latest version and it stayed registered.

Again...many thanks to the excelent support.

I have requested my registration codes be sent to me via email atleast 3 times and I always get the same message "Your Registration Codes Have Been Sent" but I have yet to receive anything. I changed phones and was forced to download the 7 day free trial which ends tomorrow. Can you pleaseeeeeee send me my registration codes.

Which email did you send it to? @hotmail? @emci? I still have not recieved anything. This is getting alittle frustrating. Is there anyway you can give me your email so I can try sending you something to see if it goes through? Can you just try calling me or texting me the info??

Just want to let folks know that on the new BB 7 phones it looks like Tether is not in BB App World. We have to download it OTA directly from http://tether.com/t/tether.jad as specified above. It's now version 1.4.4.2, and works fine.
