I have a blackberry 9700 bold. I was able to use tether in the past with no problem. However I haven't used it in a while. I was trying to remember my device ID so I could log in via USB, and after I hit 10 attempts it closed the program and wiped my blackberry. It is now completely factory defaulted. This is the second time it's happened so I know it has something to do with the Tether program.
I can get my setup back by calling tech support for my company and the enterprose server loads everything back in, but I don't want to go through this again.
How do I know what my device ID is? Where can I find it to log in again.
If you have the phone lock code (password for the phone keypad lock), when you connected to USB, you will be prompted to enter the code for unlock your phone (the same one you do on your phone). That is not your Tether password you registered with the forum.
You have 10 tries to unlock your phone, after that, your phone will be permanently locked.
