Problem with connecting using Bluetooth

I am attempting to connect my Blackberry Storm to my Netbook using BT. However, when I was assigned the passkey, I just typed it into my Netbook, and did not write it down.

I need the passkey for the Storm to connect, but since I do not have the passkey, I cannot get any farther in the process.

How can I either find out what the passkey is that was assigned, or select a new passkey?

Thanks,

Doug

Just delete the device that you have setup on your Netbook, and start the pairing process all over again.

Thanks for the quick response.

I changed the name of the Blackberry, and then the Netbook saw the new name, but would not let me begin the process again.

I am getting a message "Enter numeric passkey for Netbook" on the Berry, and "To complete the pairing process, type the required passkey, and then press next" on the Netbook.

Click the little bluetooth button in the system tray, select "Show Bluetooth Devices", now right click the connection to your phone and choose delete.

Let it delete (it takes a few seconds), now close the window, click the bluetooth icon in the system tray again, choose "Open Settings", now check the box that says "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer" and hit the "Apply" button.

Now on your phone go into the "Manage Connections" screen (on a BB Pearl) and choose "Setup Bluetooth" then choose "Search for devices from here" and hit "OK", a box will pop open with your computers hostname, choose OK, enter ANY numbers like "1232" or "3333" etc.

Now the computer will pop open a message box where you can enter the same number you just entered into the phone.

Now open Tether and try and get a bluetooth connection. This was all on a Windows 7 machine, things are a little different on XP I believe.

Thanks for the directions.

I will give that a try tonight after work.

Your welcome.

I have better luck letting my phone find my PC instead of relying on the PC to find the phone.

Also you have to watch what the dialogs say, sometimes your actually entering the passcode you want to set instead of entering the passcode you already set when your trying to pair a new device. If you need any more help just ask.
