Anyone else find the $9.99 for PIN changing to be a bit steep or unnecessary? Great program I do agree, but considering how often some of us go through phones, or with replacements it seems like it could end up costing alot. I personally like BeeJive's system, where you could purchase a "User" license instead of a "device" license, for a little extra (at least if the company wants to be able to charge for changes like this)

It's the only thing preventing me from hitting Buy right now. Any thoughts?

I agree. User Licenses are far superior to device licenses (at least from a user perspective) as I change devices a lot.

Maybe having the ability to change devices 2-3 times before a fee would be an alternative

I change device 2 to 3 times per year, that will bring the cost of running tetherberry up to $80 to $90 dollars per year! They gotta fix their licensing pricing!

I agree as well.

TetherBerry, I loved the beta and I WANT to give you my money, but the PIN license will keep me sitting on the fence.

I was stoked to purchase this app and forgot my storm has to go back soon for problems. May have to replace several times if I have the same luck others are having with the storm. I may have to rethink my TetherBerry purchase. I guess I have 30 days to get my money back. To bad, I love this app.

We do not want to advertise this, but there is a little frustration on our $9.99 fee. Each time you need to change your PIN it will be on a case to case basis, if we feel you aren't trying to abuse our system we will just update it for you.

That make me feel a little better. But I also vote for a license fee that allow you to use Tetherberry on one device PIN at a time. Because we do go through different devices more often then not in the corporate world. It should not matter what device you are using as long as you have purchased a Tetherberry license. If you have more than one device, of course you need to purchase additional licenses. Another idea is to perhaps offer a yearly maintenance fee that would includes software upgrades, premier support and PIN changes as required. Thanks.

I think I entered my pin incorrectly. It is 301938dd and I used 301938DD (capitolized the dd in error) can you fix this for me? Doug

Those are actually the same values. It doesn't matter if it is capital or not.

Is it not working for you?

Because of this honest attempt to treat the customer right, I purchased your software. Will hardly use it, but want small business to succeed. Thank you.

It's nice to see a human aspect here - hopefully most will not have to even wonder if its abuse or not. Thank you for the reassurance that a PIN update could be done without charge in that "Once in a blue moon".

I have this activated on my Storm and have only done some preliminary tests, I know I definitely loved it in Beta.

You should be all fixed up. Can you confirm in your account here at tetherberry.com it is now showing the correct PIN in the Settings window?

The reason we have the $9.99 fee in place is due to the fact in several email exchanges we hear the same scenario. I have two BlackBerries' one for work and one for home. They are asking how they can switch their PIN from one to another as they switch back and forth. In this case we feel the user should purchase two licenses.

If it's a matter of changing your PIN every 3 months, we will more then likely just do it. If you are changing it every week, that's a different story.

I just wanted to say thanks responding to my tweet(matthoffman). I was planning not to buy the software luckily another co-worker pointed me to your faq as your Terms of Service do not support the faq. I am happy this change was at least implemented.

I upgrade to a new phone whenever I can ...but I tend to kill my bbs from use. Glad to see this was amended. Bought it Friday after he quoted your faq. ....

Now just please get a server on the east coast! Latency issues!

Alright, you've convinced me. I feel this company has our interests in mind too, so I pulled the trigger and bought the app.

Thanks very much. Hope to see this become successful! (though I'm sure it already is)

how about for application upgrades? is that included in your original purchase price or do you need to buy the software or "upgrade" your plan?

You have a registration code that you can put on your new BlackBerry. You can find your registration key under:

Verizon changed my Alltel acount to verizon and replaced my old BB with a new one. How do I get my registration code in my new BB? Or register my new BB PIN with Tether. I can't seem to find the way to do it.

Thanks

When changing to your new BlackBerry you should be asked for your registration code. Just use your existing registration code from:

I was contemplating a Curve 8530 or Tour all day and it hit me that it might cost to get a new phone. Great that it will not. This app is by far one of my Top 3 must haves. Bluff my call & NFL Live w/ Sprint are a close 2&3.

I now have a Storm2 - the 8330Curve I registered with Tether is no longer in service. I tried to enter my existing registration code as you suggested above, but my device is not accepting it.

Old registration and PIN were:
*deleted* PIN 30459F67

My new PIN is 313EA572. Could you either replace the old PIN with the new, or give me a new registration code??

Thank you.

It should work without any issue, you have to make sure your entering your code properly. Sometimes a 1 looks like an l and an S looks like a 5, things like that.

You no longer have to do this. Just use your registration code on your new device.
