Does anybody know how to manually update the phone without using OTA.
BlackBerry Tour 9630 is the phone that I have.
I can not get the updates over the air and would like to down load the update to the Pc and manually install it on the phone. Has anybody done this, if so what programs are needed and what is the process.
Not the phone ... When I start tether it states there is an updated version of tether
and I can not get the tether update over the air to the phone. That is why I need to be able to load it from a PC if possible.....
How did you get Tether on your phone in the first place? Are you getting an error when you try to update?
I am also unable to update OTA. Says access denied. How can I update it manually from the PC?
You can install Tether through BlackBerry Desktop Manager by downloading the following files:

Are you talking about the Tether version numbers?
You can find the BlackBerry Tether version by running Tether on the BlackBerry , press the BlackBerry menu button and select "View Logging".
You can find the Tether PC version right under the "Exit" button when Tether is running on the PC.
which update are you talking about? OS for the phone? If so, you can find them at Blackberry official website for your specific model's OS update.
