When my Lenovo T61 comes out of sleep, though Tether will connect over USB, I will get no incoming packets.

I have to re-install tether on the notebook to get it working again. Since I put my laptop in and out of sleep many times, this can be a hassle.

Also, I noticed that the root directory is littered with files for due to the tether install.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried to unplug and then re-plug the USB cable after the computer comes out of sleep?

Does your notebook have a Charge option on the usb port while computer is in sleep or hibernation? Perhaps the drivers for this are messing up the USB port, try another USB if the other one does not use the charge while in sleep mode ( There is a name for this, but I cannot recall it)

Yes, i've tried it with different ports to no avail. The only consistent option i found was to re-install the package.

I think that usb charging option is called "always on".

I forgot to mention that my laptop does not go to sleep or come out of sleep with the phone attached. It's always wake from sleep, then plug in phone.

Hope this helps.

Eureka, I have isolated the cause (if not the cure) of the "packts sent but no packets received" issue. It only happens when the computer has been put to sleep or hibernated. Here's what I did:

1. Fresh boot of PC (Windows 7)
2. Plug in USB cable and Phone (Curve 8330)
3. Start Tether on BBery
4. Start Tether on PC
5. Start Browser, it works. So does email.

Then, I hibernated the PC, and then work it up from hibernation. Same old "send packets but no receive packets" thing.

Then I rebooted again as above. And it worked.

Then, I put it in sleep mode, then work it up, and reconnected. Not working again.

So I rebooted a final time, and it worked again.

In all cases, the USB port was working, had power, and passed data back and forth to the BBerry.

SO, there is something about Tether on the PC that dies if you hibernate or sleep the pc. A fresh boot works, and continues to work, until you sleep or hibernate the pc.

So what is there about sleep or hibernate mode that kills Tether? The WiFi seems to work fine after a wakeup like that. But not Tether.

Sadly, I have the same symptoms, but sleep or hibernation is not a factor in my case.

No response from support.

I downloaded the updated JAD file referred in the bluetooth thread and that didn't make a difference
I think it was 1.0.0.1.

Can you guys tell me if a disable/enable of the network adapter instead of a reboot resolves the problem as well?

Will do. I also upgraded to 1.1.0.1 to see if that changes anything.

My problem was fixed by upgrading to 1.1.0.1. You have to upgrade both parts, the .jad file for the Blackberry and the PC file as well. When I upgraded both those, I can now connect after the computer "wakes up" from hibernate.

I concur, upgrading both to 1.1.0.1 fixed the hibernation issue.
