After the update I no longer can run tether via bluetooth. On the new version a little screen pops up and asks to select a device. I select my phone and click ok and tether comes back with something like no device found! WTF, obviously it found it or it wouldn't be listed. Please allow downloading of old versions, I know how to use them and they work!

Well I was able to find the old desktop software and go back to 1.1.0.1 on the desktop, still running 1.1.0.6 on the phone and everything works great. Wish I knew what the issue was with bluetooth on the new version. Anyone else have that problem?

Bluetooth is now working for you since you downgraded the Tether PC application to version 1.1.0.1?

What BlackBerry device are you using? What is the BlackBerry OS revision?

Yes, it is working with the desktop app downgraded and the phone up at the current version.

Blackberry 8330m v4.5.0.186
Like I said the new desktop app can obviously see the blackberry since it comes up in the list but it refuses to connect to it. Strange.

Having the exact same issue. Support so far is of no help, they told me it's an APN issue, but I can't see it being that considering USB works fine and Bluetooth used to work on the old software.

Does anyone have a link to the previous version so I can compare?

Thanks,

If anyone in support is interested, I just tried to connect using bluetooth with a usb cable hooked between the pc and the 8330, tether connected, I then disconnected the USB and the connection continued using bluetooth. As a matter of fact this was typed using the bluetooth connection.

I tried connecting to tether without hooking the USB cable up and was still unable to do so. This MUST be a software or setting issue. I'm thinking it's with the pc tether software, NOT the blackberry .

I have a similar situation. Everything worked on version 1.1.0.5 and before, but since upgrading to 1.1.0.6, I get the "Failed to connect to the Tether service" error message after selecting my BlackBerry in the list of bluetooth devices. It works fine when connected via USB, but not bluetooth. I haven't tried to have the USB cable connected when choosing bluetooth as described in the previous post.

BTW -- I have a Tour with OS 5.0.0.643.

Using A Blackberry Storm 9530 0S 5.0 and Tether 1.106

I had a similar problem...spent a lot of time looking for drivers for blackberry and bluetooth...

simple solution

delete your phone from your windows bluetooth device list.

start over and pair the phone with windows

as soon as windows tries to do it's automatic "bluetooth peripheral device driver update" click in the lower left hand corner of that box "skip microsoft updates"

Apparently the drivers that Windows tries to install are some type or remote audio control driver for audio devices...they have nothing to do with anything that pairs the data/modem function between the phone and the bluetooth device in the computer.

Hope this helps

Can you guys delete your phone from your Bluetooth devices and try pairing again?

Let me know if this resolves your issues.
