Running v1.4.3.7 on the laptop with v1.4.3.9 on the BB over USB.
In earlier versions, exiting Tether on the laptop would automatically shut Tether down on the BB. Now I have to remember to manually terminate Tether on the BB otherwise it keeps running.
Is this a new feature aimed at being able to re-establish dropped connections?
Per your instructions I removed v1.4.3.9 from the BB and replaced it with v1.4.4.0.
With v1.4.3.7 on the laptop running over USB, exiting Tether on the laptop leaves it still running on the BB.
I'm guessing it has something to do with automatic reconnection over flakey USB (how often does that happen?) because if I wait several seconds and restart Tether on the laptop then it reconnects to the BB and continues passing packets.
I'd think it'd be a fairly simple solution to have Tether on the laptop pass a "clean shutdown" type command to the BB when the "EXIT" button was explicitly clicked?
This actually has been removed on the new version of Tether to able to view the logs on the BlackBerry if there are any issues.
Could you try uninstalling the Tether Application by following these steps from your BlackBerry Smartphone:
1) Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications
2) Highlight the Tether software
3) Press the BlackBerry Menu button
4) Select Delete
Once the Tether application has been uninstalled, could you install it again by opening this link through the default BlackBerry Browser:
