Have new BB 8530 running up-to-date software with Verizon as carrier. Downloaded/installed Tether on both laptop (running XP SP3) and BB. Tether starts up and connects fine using USB on both BB and laptop, however network connection is not active and dialog box says "Network cable disconnected".

Sorry. Didn't see your reply, so I just reloaded both PC and BB. PC running XP Pro SP3, Tether ver. 1.4.3.7. BB running ver. 1.4.4.0. Carrier is Verizon Wireless.Everything looks okay, except network connection says " ...cable unplugged ...". Log after connection is:

Under Tether connection properties, TCP/IP is the only thing checked. Connection still shows "A Network Cable is Unplugged."

Which version of Windows are you currently using?
Do you have any Virus scanners installed on your PC? If so which virus scanner do you currently have installed?
Problem Solved
I'm running XP Pro SP3 using McAfee AV. I found another thread here saying that there was some problem between McAfee and the drivers, so I uninstalled both Tether and McAfee, then installed Tether before reinstalling McAfee and all is fine. Just registered Tether.
Yes this is a known issue we are currently looking into the issue further.
