1) Has the conflict between Blackberry Desktop Manager and Tether been resolved?

2) If not is there hope that it will be resolved?

3) Can you run tether if DTM is installed, or does it have to be removed from the computer (this would not be a viable option for me.)

4) yes, I can get a Bluetooth connection, it is just slower.

I am running a MB Pro with OSX 10.6.3 and BDM 10.0.3 Build 16

Thanks
And here is hoping for a yes for question 1 :-)

Unfortunately the issue has not been resolved, the developers aren't the holdup on getting this fixed. It is because there is no API available to the Tether developers for this possibility currently on Mac.

Has anyone used a BB Storm 2 +Tether with an iPad connected via bluetooth?

You can't use Tether with an iPad directly.

I was told by an Apple sales guy that if you have a Macbook Pro that you can make it act as a hot spot.
So, if the MacBook is connected (I often use an amplified unit by QuickerTek to connect to remote Wi-Fi networks) you can make your own Hot Spot and connect your iPad.

BTW, Quickertek has some products for the ipad as well.
