Mac Tether application crashes upon connection

I recently upgraded from the trial to the registered version and when I did my phone also said there was a new version of Tether for my BB Storm 1 (OS v5.0.0.328 platform 4.2.0.128) and now I have Tether v1.3 on my phone and v1.1.0.2 on my MacBook. When I connect the phone and Tether on the mac via Bluetooth it forms a connection just fine but the moment I try to browse to a website the Mac application quits with an "The application Tether quit unexpectedly." It only happened after I updated the application on my phone to v1.3. Any thoughts or ideas?
