When I install the latest version of Tether for Mac on my Snow Leopard MacBook, it works great.

After a reboot, I receive the error "Could not find the Network Adapter" on the Mac side. I can see that the Blackberry application is running, states "Registered" and "Tether is running" using the USB connection. When I go to the Network control panel, I can see that Tether is listed, and that AirPort is turned off.

If I remove the driver from the Network control panel and reinstall, it (again) works great until the next reboot.

Any ideas?

It's annoying but, hey, it's a great service and my thought is that the hassle of working out these bugs is more than worth the money it's saving me in service fees through my carrier!

Have you check under "Security" settings in Preferences of you Mac, if there is anything preventing you to modify the Network Settings.... Does your Network Preferences settings have a "lock" icon at the bottom, if so, make sure it is "unlocked" before any setting can be changed...

During the installation of Tether, I am asked for my administrative password, which I offer, for the application installation as well as the network adapter creation. There is nothing in the Security control panel which explicitly allows or denies these two actions - they are handled by the system by prompting for a password, which I correctly enter.

As an update, I receive this error after every reboot. I do not actually have to removel the Network entry for Tether, nor do I have to remove the application from Applications or my Icon Dock. I can simply re-run the installation program and, poof, it works again until the next reboot.

Hopefully this can be figured out.

Thanks!

Oh, and when I say "I do not actually have to remove..." I mean, I have done this many times in the past. So before you recommend that I do this, I have.

I have this exact same problem. It is a shame really. I like this program, but we Mac folks have now had two major setbacks. First, we can't use the USB connection because of the DTM conflict and now I have to reinstall the program every time I reboot. $50 is a lot of money for a program that has a slow BT connection and has to be reinstalled a few times a week.

I need to update my last comment. For some reason my speeds have really picked up, so that part is not a complaint anymore. 465 download and 360 upload is respectable for a bluetooth connection.
