Hi, I've gone through all the steps necessary to run the beta from the email that was sent to me, but I can't get the computer to recognize my Droid even when Tether is both running on my phone and the PC. I'm not sure what else to do. Can someone help me with this or have the same experience? Thanks.

What exactly are you seeing on your phone & on your computer?

When I start the PC program, it gives me the option to start the Android USB so I do so. Then it says connect the phone. I connect the phone and start Tether on it, then the phone says "Waiting for PC." So, in short, both the PC and phone say they are waiting for each other to connect. Neither the PC or phone program are giving me other options.

Do you have USB Debugging enabled on your Incredible?

I was having the same issue, this is how I fixed it.

1) Download and install HTC Sync 2.0.33
http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=933&news_id=627

2) Download and install Android SDK
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

3) Once this is installed, if you receive an error trying to update, click on Settings within the SDK and check the box that says "Force https://...

4) Make sure you download the USB drivers from within the SDK by clicking update and checking the box marked USB Drivers.

5) Because the Incredible is too new, it is not included in the drivers from Google so we need to edit the usb driver file. The original posting is here

The file is located in the android-sdk-windows\usb_driver folder. Open up the android_winusb.inf file in your favorate notepad

6) Search for the section labeled [Google.NTx86]

ADD TO THIS SECTION

%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C9E&MI_01

8) On your Incredible, go to Settings->Applications->Development and turn on USB debugging.

9) Startup Tether on your PC and on your Incredible and connect your device via USB.

10) Enjoy your tether experience!

PS...I don't know if HTC Sync is the fix or the Android SDK, if you want to play around with it to see which one is needed or if both are needed then feel free to post up and let me know.

Could you check to see if you have only one Tether network adapter and one Tether service?
