Just downloaded 1.0.13 and I get this error now - it's a new error for me as it never came up with the previous one (1.0.9). is the license server swamped with downloads or what?
Failed to locate the server error
Same here. Updated from 1.0.9 to 1.0.13 using 8330 on Sprint.
ditto 8830 on sprint
Got the same error with the newly downloaded 1.0.0.13 when it worked just fine with 1.0.0.9. 8130 with Alltel.
Me too.
just purchased TB today...version 1.0.13 was installed...when i run TB on my BB Tour 9630, it says failed to connect to server (on all 3 settings Default, Direct, & BES/MDS)...what gives?
My Specs:
VZW
BB Tour 9630
BIS Unlimited Data Plan
Dell Latitude D630
i'm eager to test this out...please hurry!
ALSO, sorry to go off topic but i came across this thread"

WHAT GIVES?!?! This seriously scares me!
ok i forget what i EXACTLY did cus i did it right when i woke up this morning but i deleted the 1.0.13 version off my Tour and redownloaded the app (from where, i forget) and it installed ver 1.0.10...when i ran the app on my phone it was able to connect to the server...However, i have yet to connect it to my computer through USB cus I was in a rush to work. I plan on try it on a test computer we have laying around during my lunch break. Will update later.
ok so TB works now with ver 1.0.10 installed on BB Tour & BB Desktop Manager ver 5.0 on laptop...well on my hella old Gateway laptop that is. Will try at home on my Dell Latitude D630 since that is the one i primarily use.
Will there be a feature to view how much data has been sent over a designated amount of time so I can keep track of how much data is being sent through my billing cycle. This would help me monitor how often/much to use TB to stay under VZW's radar (if that really is the only way to stay safe). Can VZW really not tell that we are tethering through TB?
but AGAIN i ask...what's up with this post? someone from TB please explain because i've read numerous threads and you have said that TB is undetectable by VZW as long as you don't go anywhere near the 5Gb cap. Can you please confirm that data used through tethering on TB is only seen as data to the phone and not viewed as illegal tethering (seen by VZW's end). Can they really notice how the data is being used?

I've got the same issue with my Storm. Downloaded yesterday and have tried all three connection settings. On VZW with BIS unlimited data plan and PC/Vista.
I deleted the app on my BB tour and went back to the "final mac beta" email I received. When I went to download again, I noticed the version was 1.0.10 not .13 Anyway, this version worked for me. There seems to be a few people with this problem after the final mac beta release. Glad Tetherberry is responding to all of these posts. Not really of course.....joke.
yeah, tetherberry folks have been very quiet on this, haven't heard anything. Any advise folks? Seems to be effecting numerous people. Maybe offer a link to 1.0.9? That was working great.
OK, I went "back" to 1.0.10 on my BB8830 on Sprint
now I get the following error on the BB on startup
"invalid url parameter"
"Failed to locate server"
Please exit ...... try again"

Ok just got home and on my first attempt to tether to my Dell latitude D630, it did not work. the BB itself would say connected to server but the TB app on the laptop wouldnt say "Connected to BB". It would say "Start TB on the BB".
So i launched BB Desktop Manager to sync the BB with the laptop. Afterward, I restarted the TB process. It worked, the BB was connected. Then I closed BB Desktop manager and closed TB. Tried TB again and it worked.
Do I really need BB Desktop Manager to run every time on the first attempt so that the BB syncs correctly with the PC?
Why do we even need BB Desktop Manager to be on the computer for TB to work?
I've uploaded the TB setup file onto my BB's external SD card so I can install the drivers on any computer if ever stuck somewhere without internet. If the PC NEEDS to have BB Desktop Manager installed as well, then it would defeat the whole purpose of putting the TB setup files onto my external SD card cus I would also need the BB Desktop Manager Setup file to install onto the designated PC, right?
Works for me now. I just tried downloading the .jar file and now it's version 1.0.10 which is working again. I'm glad it works, but where is the support for this product?
Sprint 8330
I could not tether with my 8310. The error message was, "unable to communicate with your computer". I am on T-Mobile network. Please help.
If you are still running into this problem, please email our support. They can assist you better on a one-to-one case.
Error on my bb Bold. Cannot connect to registration server. I am using a trial version.
Could you verify with your carrier you have the correct APN settings on your BlackBerry?
