Exiting Blackberry Application

I have used Tether for a couple years, and it is everything as advertised. I live in a rural area, and my cell phone does not get the best coverage. I understand how Tether works, and know that the slowness I get is because of my less than ideal cell coverage.

Saying that, there are times when I start the Tether application on my Blackberry when my data coverage is weak, or non-existent. I am on the Sprint network, and there are times when I only get 1x coverage. Sometimes my phone will say 1XEV, then I will start the Tether application, and my phone jumps down to 1x.

Here is my issue. I attempt to quit Tether from my Blackberry when this happens, and it won't quit for many minutes. Even if I try multiple times to quit, the application continues "trying to connect".

I would like Tether to quit, when quit is selected.
