I followed the steps to get tether set up on my new EVO and as the email from tether said it should be communicating.I had made the switch from Blackberry to Evo. Any ideas what I need to do to get it to authenicate and switch over my accounts? The email also stated that it was free till it was offically launched.

Thanks for your help-

Did you receive any error messages on your PC when you installed Tether?

Do you show a ADB interface in Windows Device Manager with your HTC plugged into your PC over USB?

Have you enabled USB debugging?

No to the first and the last. I'll have to check on the 2nd. Thanks for your help!

I had trouble getting Tether to work. I installed the HTC Sync update for the Evo 4G and now Tether is working perfectly!

Must be a driver for the Evo missing somewhere in the Tether install (without the Sync program).

Anyway, I'm happy it is working now.

I'm assuming that the HTC sync software must include the necessary USB drivers from HTC to allow Tether to function.

We appreciate the notification.
