I keep getting the following message on my DROID ERIS

failed to open the TCP input stream: java.net.
SocketException: socket is closed

Sometimes I loose my internet connection either right away or after long periods of use but the phone stays connected to the pc. While other times it stays connected for long periods of time without any problems. I haven't done any downloading, mostly just browsing or streaming videos.

Tether for Android is in beta and the last bugs are being worked out, this is why Tether is still in beta.

We are certain if you try again later the bug you experienced will have been resolved.

After downloading easytether from the android market, I haven't experienced any problems with it. On the contrary, I still can't connect using Tether for more than 5 minutes at a time. I understand that it is in BETA, but serioiusly it should connect better than that I would hope. On the Moto Droid I was using it worked better than fine, so what the heck happened here?

Each Android device is different, especially HTC devices as they are not running a stock Android OS.

Our developers do not have physical access to all Android devices to quickly resolve all issues that may arise, a fix may take a little time as they have to figure out what the issue is and wait to be updated by customers using the Android device having the issue.

As you can imagine this takes time.
