I'm wondering the same thing as I would like to move from my BB Storm to a Verizon Motorola Droid but don't want to do so until it is supported by tether. Part of my decision though will hinge on whether my tether license will transfer to the droid (which it certainly seems it should as it would if I were to purchase a new BB phone).
Just got the HTC Incredible and would love to beta the android version. I current use the Blackberry version of tether and love it but now unfortunately its useless since i got the Droid....HELP!
I will be receiving my Incredible as well in a day or two. I've already filled out the Beta signup, now PLEASE send me the app so I have it ready when it arrives!! I need tethering for work purposes, so if I don't have Tether beta by then, I may need to buy PDANet. Don't lose me as a customer, I love Tether! :)
I'll be using it every day for about 2 hours. I'd love to test it out for you and send feedback.
The Incredible is a sweet phone, I love it so much more than my BlackBerry Storm.
I too am hoping to get the beta (I've signed up). I'd hate to have to buy PDANet. Luckily I don't have any urgent pressing needs for it, but I will in about a month.
Its been a few months since the Android Beta was commented on. The Incredible is now available and I moved over from my Blackberry. When will it be out?? for the Incredible??
The software will be released when all known bugs are resolved, the developers aren't going to release a version of Tether while there still outstanding bugs or issues remaining.
We understand that this is an inconvenience to our customers but beta testing is a process that takes time and can't be rushed. I apologize for the delays but they simply cannot be helped.
I just got the Droid incredible yesterday to replace my blackberry storm 1.
It's so fast and intuitive to use. Browser is very fast OS is smooth and extremely responsive.
Screen resolution 480x800 is gorgeous.
3 things I miss about bb.
1. Bb messenger. Google talk is good as long as others also have it installed.
2. Unified inbox. Although looks like this will be updated with android OS 2.2.
3. Tether. I used this everyday on my bb and loved it. Looking forward to Android version and will gladly pay...but hoping for a discount for being an existing customer.=)
I'm still waiting as well. You can find the tether beta app for your Droid if you search online, I couldn't find the desktop software to go with it though... However, for us Droid users I'd like to offer alternatives while we all wait.
1. If you have bluetooth on your computer or laptop connect to a Personal Area Network with your phone. As of right now this is a free and easy way to tether without a cable and get online via your phone.
2. EasyTether is a free app but it blocks https until you pay for it.
I loved tether on my BB and will get it whenever it comes out for my new Droid but until then this is how I get along. Neither work as well as tether did on my BB though.
We are working on a Droid version. Sign up for our beta at:

Tether for Android works now, there are a few bugs left before the application is released out of beta.

I don't have any control over the selection process.
