Does tether work on a Mac with an android phone?

Does anyone know if there are problems with using Tether on a Mac using the Android platform? Also, I'm getting the new HTC Desire from AT&T, will Tether work on this phone?

Sorry, I meant I'm getting the HTC INSPIRE, not the Desire.
