Hi,
I've got a Blackberry 8703e, and Windows XP. I'm using Bell mobility service in Canada. I've downloaded the tether software on both the bberry and my pc, and I can connect fine through a USB connection. If I try to connect via bluetooth, I get the error:
"could not find the tether service on the device"
I have tether running on both the bberry, in 'bluetooth' connection mode, as well as the PC's tether program.
Outside of Tether, I can see my bberry from the Bluetooth places folder, it has a check mark on it (meaning it's paired). if I double-click on the bberry device, it shows the services running on the bberry, and tether is one of them, but it says 'not connected'. If i manually right-click it, and select "Connect to BlueTooth Serial port", the connection goes active, but I still can't get Tether to recognize the bberry.
Is there something I'm missing?
thanks.
Rob.

Couple of things to check:
1. Tether only works with Windows Bluetooth stack, and/or Bluetooth WINCOM compatible interface.
2. When you pair the device to your XP, do not configure any device profiles. Tether do not use any "Serial interface" and/or "DUN profiles" for the device. Just pair the device, that's it!
