When i am ready to exit the program i ht the blackberry button and select close. There are 2 options under what would you like to do. the only option it will let me select easily is switch to desktop, when you roll you're finger around the screen it will on ocassion go to exit tetherberry. I did just get it to work, but not sure if this is a bug. I have tried restarting the storm but have the same issue. When I just push the swithc to desktop, it keeps the program running on the blackberry.
Closing Program Down on the Storm Question
even when you hit the exit button it would automatically depress the switch to desktop button after playing with it a while i finally could get it to switch kinda rolling my fingers around on the screen and making the exit button change color. I'm just not sure how much power it will drain staying open and not being connected to the desktop.(i dont think any 0f us Storm owners are extremly happy with the battery life anyway) I know i try and make sure all possible apps are closed on exit.
Thanks for the quick reply by tthe way.
I would also be curious to see if any other Storm owners are having this issue too.
You need to disable compatibility mode in the application settings. This usually works for all applications that are not built specifically for the Storm.
Thanks for the info.
I'd still like to get this issue resolved so I will look into getting a Storm to develop with.
I offered Patrick that I would test any code any time...
When I changed modes the PC side app would not communicate with the 9530. The only solution has been to scroll your finger around until the exit button on the BB lights up. If you exit properly, there is no hit on battery life or memory leakage.
rolling your finger around acts as the "scroll" wheel on other blackberries. you just need to move your finger up and down on the screen and it will highlight the different buttons, as if it were scrolling. That is the whole "compatibility" issue when not programmed for the storm touch screen.
Figured out you do need to keep the storm in compatibility mode, but not hard to get use to to move you're finger around on the screen. But i think once fixed all Storm owners will have to disable compatibility. I can see the questions now (it did work before the update) Ha!
sorry off on a rant.
PS GREAT PRODUCT

Interesting.
I've never used a storm but will see if I can get my hands on one to try that out.
Thanks for the heads up.
