Hi,
First of all big thanks for the initiative.
Tried setting this up but my problem is that the Blackberry Tetherberry app keeps requesting apn settings etc.
I understand how I should change the APN settings from the options/advanced menu however my carrier doesn't support tethering even though upon signing up to a 2 year contract they stated that I could do this without any problem or additional charges.
I thought this application / system would solve my problem since it will simply use the BIS connection same as any other app on the phone & channel it to my laptop. I am probably wrong in thinking this way right & the app just simplifies the setting up etc & not provides an alternative method for those who can't tether?
Best Regards,
Pace Gianluca
ps. My carrier is GO Mobile over in Malta (Mediterranean). The apn they gave me is a regular data apn which would be astronomically expensive to use :/

Currently we use a direct connection method of connecting to the internet. This requires an APN setting on some providers. (Rogers in Canada for example). A lot of providers do not require any APN settings but yours sounds like it needs one.
We are looking at joining the BlackBerry Developer Alliance in the near future, and if we get approved it will allow us to use the BISB connections which is how your built in browser and other applications connect to the web. Once we do this, APN settings will no longer be required.
